How to Add or Edit Categories:
Category Name
The category name should be short, one or two words. It can be up to 25 characters in length. You cannot use the special characters such as: "\, :, /, (, ),", <, >,"
Parent Category
The "Parent" category field is used to designate sub categories. If you want to create a sub category simply create a new category. Then, specify a "Parent" category by using the drop-down list. If you are creating a top-level category, leave the "Parent" category field blank. Later, if you decide to change a sub category to a top-level category, select the horizontal line from the drop down list and "Save". This will remove the Parent category.
Short Description
The short description appears on the "Categories" page, and on the "Item" detail page. The "Categories page is accessible from the main menu in the storefront. It will list all categories, their immediate sub-category, and your short description. You should keep the length to a minimum as it may make for a long "Categories" page.
Detailed Description
The detailed description is edited using the built-in "HTML" editor. This gives you unlimited formatting controls over text and you can even insert images, links, tables...etc. This description appears on the "Category" detail page (users will be taken to it whenever they click on a category from within the store). Display the original input Category Name/contents and items under the category
Link
When you select the "Link" It becomes a button links to the Pages/Menu tab (You may create unlimited custom pages with your design layout/contents and add it to the Navigate Link/Menu tab. Please refer to Web Design/Custom Pages or Web Design/Navigate Links to view how to set up unlimited custom pages)
Title Separator
This is just a separator without link. You may use the original style or insert an image to separate different group of product or service when display on the Category Menu.
Max per page
This setting allows you to specify how many category items should appear on a given category page. The bottom Page Navigator will be appeared to show “Next Page” “Previous Page” and number of pages if you have more than one page.
Page Style
There are two ways your items can be displayed on the category page, in columns or a standard list. Standard List will display each item details by rows. If you choose columns you must specify the maximum columns you want your items displayed in. The number of items and rows depends on your Max Per Page setting. If you wish to display items in 4 columns, you should select Max per page in 4, 8, 12 so they fill up the space of each page.
Options
You can also specify what elements are visible on the category page. Using the different "Show" check boxes, you can hide or display elements. For example, you can hide the image, price, description, item number, or other elements, to tailor the look of your storefront.

Menu
You can also change the display style of the category menu at Web/Web Layout/Default Style/Category Menu
You may uncheck the “Show On Menu” to hide the category. You may control the access of public view and for member view by selecting Everyone or Member Only.
Text Mode
The Category will be displayed by Category Name you entered. You may add Menu Icon in front of the category or insert background image in the category.
Picture Mode
You may create your own image to replace the Text Mode Category
Menu Icon
You can upload your own icon and place it in front of the Category Name
Background Picture
You can upload your own background image that will be displayed as the background of the Category Name
Meta-Tags
Meta Tags are the Title, Description and Keyword data that is embedded into each category's web page, it is used by search engines to determine your listing (Note you must submit your site to search engines, Admin does not submit sites for listing). You can enter a Title, Keywords, or description for each category to improve search engine racking. If you leave these settings blank, the default store Meta tags you setup under the "Name/Title" will be used.
Recommended Meta-Tags setting
Title: Max 100 characters
Description: Max 255 characters
Keywords: Max 255 characters
Delete Category
When you delete a category, you need to click "Yes" to reconfirm the deletion. You cannot delete the category if there are any items under the category. Firstly you have to find out which items are listed in this category by clicking the "Items Under This Category". Then click on the item to access the item detail page. Click on the categroy shown on the item and remove the link.
Edit Category
You can click the subject category on the Category List to edit it.
Items Under This Category
Check the box if you wish it keep opening all the time. All items listed in this category will be displayed.
Add Items to this category
Other than adding category in the item detail page. You can add item in this category directly. Click Add Items and search the item from the list. Click on the item to add in this category.
